BAGÉ in three key dates
1983
The birth of an industry benchmark
BAGÉ was founded by Gérard Bassano, who came from a family of industrial entrepreneurs. Together with his engineering team, he developed our flagship equipment — bucket elevators and vibratory conveyors — which would go on to become established solutions in the French food industry.
1992
A new phase of industrial growth
As the business grew, BAGÉ moved from its premises in Dardilly to La Tour-de-Salvagny, into larger facilities better suited to its development.
This move marked a major milestone for the company, enabling BAGÉ to expand its production capacity and support its continued growth.
2025 and beyond
A new chapter
Gérard Bassano and his nephew, Pierre Bardet-Neyrin, found in Fabrice Riou a successor who shares their commitment to excellence and customer service.
The acquisition in December 2025 marks a new beginning for BAGÉ while ensuring continuity with the values and expertise on which the company was built.

Passing on expertise and sharing a common vision
An entrepreneur at heart, Fabrice Riou took over the management of BAGÉ in December 2025. After many years leading and developing teams in the industrial sector, he joined the company out of conviction, sharing the values upheld by BAGÉ’s long-standing management team.
Their meeting in early 2025 shaped the future of BAGÉ. A smooth and collaborative handover followed, driven by a shared dedication to hard work, customer service and the ambition to preserve and further develop expertise deeply rooted in the local industrial ecosystem.
Looking ahead, Fabrice Riou intends to continue developing this “gem” of industrial engineering by placing customers and real-world operational needs back at the heart of the company’s strategy.
He knows he can rely on the strength of the entire team to achieve this ambition — a committed workforce that carries the company’s history, customer relationships, expertise and the high standards that define BAGÉ.
